The International Projects Department (IPD) is responsible for the management of projects at international level. These projects are aligned with both AIMPLAS' R&D and Business Lines paying special attention to the Framework Programmes of the European Union. The IPD staff actively participates in the different phases of a Project, from its conception and Consortium building, to the technical and economic execution and justification, carrying out integral management of the Project. In accordance with AIMPLAS' mission as a Technological Institute of Plastics, the IPD has a clear vocation to promoteing the R&D with a special focus on projects for SMEs, collaborating with them in their integration in international consortiums, and helping the companies at every step of the process concerning the presentation of Projects to the different existing programmes and calls.

Since 2000, the International Projects Department has been managed AIMPLAS' participation in more than 50 international Projects within different programmes, such as Capacities (CRAFT, Collective, Research for SMEs, Research for SME Associations), Cooperation (NMP, ICT, TRANSPORT, KBBE),  PEOPLE Marie-Curie, LEONARDO, CORNET, EUREKA, IBEROEKA, among others, involving more than 150 companies, many of them SMEs from the Comunidad Valenciana Region. Specifically, AIMPLAS has taken part in 1 project of the 4th Framework Programme (FP4), in 9 FP5 Projects, in 18 FP6 Projects (5 of them as Coordinator), and is currently participating in 16 FP7 Projects (8 as Coordinator). This Department also coordinates 3 Projects of the EACI-CIP-EIP Eco-Innovation Programme.
